Flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations
Does Age Affect the Risk of Flu and COVID-19?
Yes. If you are aged 65 years or over, you are at higher risk and it is therefore important to get your seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Who should have the flu and COVID-19 vaccinations?
You may be able get the NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccines if you:-
- are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2024)
- have certain health conditions or a learning disability
- are pregnant
- live with someone who has a weakened immune system
- are a carer
- are a frontline health or social care worker
- live in a care home
Children who are aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2023, school-aged children (Reception to Year 11) and children with certain health conditions can get the children's flu vaccine.

Do I Need To Be Protected Against Pneumococcal Infection?
Everyone aged 65 or over are also eligible for the pneumococcal vaccine which helps to protect them from pneumonia. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment.

RSV Vaccination - September 2024
The RSV vaccine helps protect against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common virus that can make babies and older adults seriously ill. It's recommended during pregnancy and for adults aged 75 to 79.
